Guitars!!!!!!!!
How many people actually play the guitar here? What is your favorite guitar? How long you been playin'???
I have an accoustic Epiphone (20 years old, but in perfect condition), but I really like to play Fender Strats, and Gibsons, anything in the Les Paul series. -Jon

I have been playing guitar for...almost 10 years now.
I have three electrics. BC Rich Warlock, Kramer Focus 6000 and an Arbiter Les Paul replica. The Warlock is the best of them, altho since I put a new pickup into the Les Paul it's very close actually. |

I have been (if you can call that) playing it for 5 years or so.
I have a Peavy electric and a Washburn electric/acoustic.
I couldn't play solo riffs to save my life, but rhythm playing is a different story..

I have a Aria Pro RS Knight Warrior 3 I have been playing for 16 years. I love it. I done a 6 year rock circut, and played it the whole time. I also have a cheap Cort bass, ugly color, but sounds OK.
Been playing for 30 years in june, I'm 37, done it since I was big enough to reach the end of the fretboard.
I also do alot of recording, I will give you the link to my pic, if you promise not to laugh, it's not finshed yet.
BTW, i was tuning the piano, I have all the pieces, it was built in 1896, and sounds schweet! http://www.techimo.com/photo/index.pl?photo=1349
I will put updated pics up soon, done a lot more work.

I've been playing bass for 13 years, guitar for five. I've got an 81 Gibson Q80 bass, black on black (used to have black tape strings too), a Peavey Patriot bass, and a Series 10 Tele fake that rocks hard for a single coil. I play the basses through an Ampeg BR2 head and LHF 4x10 ported cabinet. I play the Series 10 on a vintage Fender Bassman 100 on the Normal side, and a Big Muff Pi foot box through a vintage Fender 215 cabinet. Other than some other misc cabinets, that's all I got.
My live band plays hard, heavy rock: Metallica, Megadeth, Type O, Nirvana, et all. My recording band plays more modern poppy crap which you can download at your own risk from http://whir.alsherok.net/killer.htm . My own personal stuff sounds sorta like Tool, but not nearly as good since they rock and I don't.
My favorite guitar to play, though I don't have one, is the Gibson SG, ala Tony Iommi. I was trying to save up for the SG Gothic, but some computer things got in the way.

Been playing about 40 years. Just wish I sounded like I've played 40 years. My son has been playing clarinet for 4 years and has a better ear than I do.
I own a 35-yr-old D28 and a 25-yr-old D12-20.

Been playing bass guitar off and on for about 6 years. Bass is a Fender Jazz. Amp is a Hartke Kickback 12, with paper cone. As far as a favorite, ????? I have only had one bass and I like it a lot and have had no reason to get another one. The only thing I have changed are the knobs, which are jumbo chrome.

Been playing for about 7 years, right now ive got a cheap epiphone acoustic, a Washburn B2 Electric(blahhhhh I hate it) And my baby. An Alverez acoustic electric artist series with a cutaway and Sunburst finish. The sunburst is front, back, and sides. The sunburst goes all the way up the back of the neck. Its a beauty. Im torn between loving the way it looks and wishing it wasnt there because on my guitars I usually sand off the finish on the neck and just oil it because I dont like that laquered feel on my neck while im playing. It makes my hand sweat and stick to the neck.
And I am sooo jealous of you JnMHayes. If someon breaks into your house and only steals your guitars... It wasnt me. Honest.

Wow! I didn't know there were so many guitar players here! THWEET!
This summer (when I will finally get a job), I am going to get an electric, but I am not sure what kind. I can't afford a Gibson, unless it is an Epiphone, but there are some sweet ones I can get.
My top list:
Fender Telecaster, humbuck -
Fender Strat, single coil-
Epiphone, SG body (not sure of specifics)-
or an Ibanez that is pretty sweet (even though I don't really like them) - it is copper colored, with some awesome distortion.
Out of all these, the Epiphone SG has the very best distortion/OV/fuzz. -Jon
