Clears out a selection set of AutoCAD objects that I gather from the map. If you don't clear it keep appending instead of re-assigning. Ended up break ummmm... 32 states (U.S. states) worth of design maps... Lucky for me, I think I can fix it.

Hmmmmm....That's why I back up our Cadd server data on a Zip drive daily, or even twice daily at critical junctures. Plus, I keep read-only copies of everything important on a seperate PC.

I've seen too many horror stories about drawing corruption; and I've corrupted a few too.

When you've got 40 hours in a drawing, you can't afford unrecoverable errors.

Unfortunately, we're talking about 100+ GB of stuff here, not something that fits on a Zip drive.

When I break stuff, I break it right.

BTW, I should clarify something. I can't back up our entire server onto a single 100MB Zip disk. It actually takes several CD's (Hmmmm...4GB...about 7 actually) for that, not including the read-only archives (another 5GB there.)

What I back up onto Zip is only the files that actually changed on a particular day. We typically change data on about 30 to 50MB max. every day.

Were you doing a batch properties conversion? Oooh, man...
Dangerous stuff!

You know the funny thing? The program was written to correct mistakes.

We've pretty much come to the conclusion that while it was a colossal bungle, management doesn't need to know about it, since I can fix 99% of the damage pretty easily and quickly.

The sad thing is that I had thought I had tested the damn program pretty thoroughly before I started using it on the server maps. Ah well.

TonTo - If you want AutoCAD VBA programs, I'm your man. If you want anything else, I am far from it. I know very little VB outside of the realm of AutoCAD. Good thing I work in a highly specialized field and there's almost no market for people that do what I do. Otherwise there'd be competition and they'd have to pay me better.

I've added a line that shouldn't of been there
I had an error message that was NEVER supposed to happen!
The error: "Doh SH17 this isn't supposed to happen!" LOL

Internal company application so no damage done
