Marketing gurus I need some help!!!!

For my marketing class we had to choose a product and do some research on their market strategies and such. Basically, write a paper about their target market, product strategy, and pricing strategy. We also are writing on the promotion strat and the distribution strat but those are later.

Anyway, Im hving some trouble finding the info I need about the target market. Namely, how much market share does my product have. Oh and I chose the Dodge Dakota as my product (heck I just bought one for myself! ). So I've searched google and yahoo but nothing that gives me specific numbers pops up. If anyone has any info or possible sites that would help me then that'd be great. Its hard looking for such specific stuff

Also, the questions about the priving strat are weird:
1. What method of pricing is used by your company to set an approximate price?
2. What pricing tactics and final adjustments are made to the price of your product? Give examples of actual price.

Again, if you peeps know any good sites then that'd be awesome..thanks for the help!!!!! I greatly appreciate it

Looks like you might have a tough time getting concrete numbers. Corporations pay big bucks for market research, focus groups and probably won't post their findings.

You might have better luck with a Gen-X product. They always have stories on the news about those companies going to Spring Break to advertise. I don't know if you can really write up a paper on stuff about Dr. Pepper, beer, or suntan lotion. Small items but volume sales.

I'd google on marketing startegy/analysis and you'll get some good sites where information is available. Have you finalised your product? If not you may want to consider doing a paper on a "theoretical product/service" where you use representative numbers to make a point.

Or you can pick a very perishable product (hotel room/airline seats/daily newspaper) and write on distribution strategies for this class of products versus a consumer durable.
