Ok I really need some opinions/help on this one!

Okay I really want to leave the place where I am living now but I don't have the exspenses and won't for awhile. The city i live in is Altoona, PA. Ok there are heroin addicts out the Kazoo! Now the older people in my city just don't really know whats going on! (NOTE: IM 20) like even the people that are 30-40 have lost touch with there community! I mean maybe this is everywhere I dont know but it just screws with my head alot! If anyof you guys know where a nice city that isnt flooded with heroin and cocaine and blah blah blah, blah blah! I just wanna raise my child in the best possible enviroment! It will take me alot of research and time to make this move but I feel it is very necessary! So guys please help me out with some suggestions!

OK, m8. I understand where your coming from, I lived in a suburb so full of weed that kids of age of grade three were doing drug runs.

The best place i know that is very low on drugs is here! Except for weed, that seems to flurish here but it as near bad as heroin .

Of coarse it is a far way away and in another country but it is a great place for kids.

Well, I've never heard of any problems in the Northeast, right north of you. New Hampshire is actually one of my fav. states in New England...many more larger cities and better politics, IMO. It's hard to answer your question about being w/o the drug problem unless u live there....I never hear of 'hard-core' drugs (like heroin) being problems any where around here.

guys i just don't understand it! "Okay you make a friend here! after a bit, stuff turns up missing! Well the only person that was at your house, stole your cell phone. You confront them about it. Then they whine and complain saying that they didn't do it! Then you find out that they do heroin!" Almost every person i try to befriend (which is a descent amount of people) screw me over somehow! It is all shapes and sizes of the people in my city that are doing this. Not only blacks but more whites are doing it. It just really blows! That is the half the reason why I despise this city! The other reason is that 3 friends that I had since grade school died in the last year! Thats just sick and I don't wanna hear about it anymore! Its just too rough on me anymore!

Well, you could try Northern Michigan. Upper and lower peninsula's. Pretty decent around me(Northern Lower). McBain is where I went to high school, and I plan to move back to raise my kids there.
I also had 3 friends I graduated with die within a year, but it was from crotch-rocket accidents.

I agree with Warthog on this. I have been to NM and Fl (twice) and always ended up moving back to New England. I have lived in NH for 13 years, and will never leave.The central part of NH is the best IMO. Plenty of lakes and mountains and a wonderful atmosphere. And of course no sales or income tax
As far as hard core drugs, never hear of it around my parts. Just the occasional small bust for pot.
