Should I go to see the Vice Prez?
Dick Cheney will be speaking at MSU convocation ceremony on Friday. I am not sure if I want to go or not. I don't have any intrest in politics at all. Left wing and right wing to me are parts of a chicken, or positions on a hockey team.
If I went it would be out of curiousity only and to say I saw the VP. Due to security issues, they are advising people show up three hours early. It is going to be a circus I imagine. The whole ceremony will probably only last an hour and a half or so. I worry a little about the fact that this is a good chance for something bad to happen as well.
I have the tickets, just need to decide if I want to use them. Will be walking on Sunday BTW.

I'd go.
Even if I didn't like him, I'd go just for the experience. Seeing Secret Service guys would be pretty cool, IMO.

I'm certianly not a supporter of his, but I would go if the tickets were just lying there. A chance to attend any high level political event should never be ignored. Just think, you might meet some really cool people in higher places that can help ya' later in life. It's called "political networking". | |

You should go. It's not every day that you get to see the Vice President. |

Maybe I'll just go as a spectator rather than as a graduate. It is within walking distance of my house. The whole "get there 3 hours early" thing really doesn't appeal to me tho.

The president came to the State fair here one year, ticked me off to no end. could not get tickets to see him.(no big whooped de do for me to watch him thump his chest and campaign for his cronies.) What ticked me off is the fact that I was there for the stock car race's and had to wait 4 freaking hour's before they could even start practice, had to walk a couple miles to get across the road. Let alone I was pushing my wife in a wheelchair at the time.(car wreck) at least they wern't selling corona as the only beer in the stand's. I thought old style was bad beer then I tried a corona, that stuff is just plain gross.
But if you have a chance to go why not? the worst thing that should happen is you will have wasted a day.

Sure go - years from now you'll say I saw Dick Cheney speak - and people will say 'who?" as a boy, I shook Spiro Agnew's hand...... who?
