I can't remember my Grandmother ever using profanity. My great Aunt however, was another story altogether.........

I must point out, my great aunt had many mental problems near the end of her life, and was not in her correct frame of mind.

My grandma on my dad's side is pretty clean when it comes to profanity, but my grandma on my mom's side is .. well .. a different story.

Both my maternal and paternal grandmas were ladies in the true Old English sense of the word, and I was only a child while they were alive, and they never used profanity around me. I doubt they ever used it at all.

I hope my kid's kids will say that about their grandmas!

Cheers
Mick

Well not my grandparents but a friend of mine's grandmother would. When I was younger, we were running around his house while she watching TV. We did something loud and she proceeded to cuss us out. She never left her chair but let loose with a long stream of profanity that drove us outside.

Sometimes we would follow her around the house listening to her cuss at different inanimate objects. It wasn't that she was senile or anything, but I think it was just that she really liked using profanity.

The only thing I remember my grandmother saying was, at the end of a very good laugh... She would usually have tears in her eyes from laughing so hard..she would end it with "ahhhhhhhh..$hit..."...

I can remember it like it was yesterday...

Yes, but she spelled it at us. Samwich and I were chucking water balloons at them out of a tree and she yelled up at us "You little S H I T's! That has to be one of the funniest things ive ever heard because right after that Sam's mom said " Mother they can spell."

Hahahahaha... yeah, I remember that. Spelling at us when we were teenagers .

I've heard her curse since then though, and my grandmother on my dad's side too.
