Shaving question

I have always wondered about this...

Luckily, my job doesn't force me to shave every day, but for some reason I have started to anyway.

Question: Which way is quicker for a blade to dull...if you shave every day, thus the hairs on your face are thinnner, or once a week where you shave less, but now the hair is thicker.

What's your thought?

One more question...

You're in your car and it's raining. Is it better to run to shelter or walk?

Shaving everyday will dull a blade faster but not necessarily for the reasons you think. The blades get a coating / deposits built up on them which reduces the sharpness.

If you keep your blade in a cup demineralized water when you are not using it, it will retain its sharpness for a longer period of time.

I think you floor the gas pedal in your Delorean until you reach 88 mph and let time take you away from the rain...

I don't think the hair thickens with time, the follicles maintain their diameter, at least over the short term, and if that hair has been cut recently it will have a shear edge. Your shavings would be flat ended rods.

Use electric, it is kinder on the skin.

As for running or walking through the rain, there were some studies done, unsurprisingly it depended on how hard it was raining as to which kept you drier.

I say a science fair project done on this at an area HS and they concluded that it is better to walk. I thought that was interesting. Their data and procedures seemed sound though.

The last time I bailed from shaving I looked like a ZZTOP convert in about a year---I use a ceramic bladed 3 edge that lasts indefinitly but costs 390$...
(Kyocera prototype, to be available soon)

I do not know about the dullness of a blade with everyday use. but I agree with Ground Zero the Mach 3 razers are exellent, I won't use any other razor but Mach 3. and Yes I use male razors. the razors for females don't quite do the job as a Male razor. hehehe.

AS for the rain.
ummmm I agree with the one who said to floor it! LOL.

Walk, less rain will land on you.
