Gotta brag

I saw the thread about Martoch and felt compelled to start one.

I was sitting at my PC the other day and my 4 year old comes up and throws a little piece of paper at me. It hits me in the arm, I think nothing of it and go about reading TechIMO. He says open it, so I do. Out falls another piece of paper, I look at the "wrapper " and put it down. I pick up the other piece, there written perfectly is my name. I asked him if he had done that and he puffs out his chest and with a big grin shakes his head yes. Well I give him a big hug and thank him. I took it into the office and taped it to my monitor.

So the next day we are watching The Simpsons ( the one were Bart is in the boy band ) at the end they sail a ship in to the New York harbor. In the background is the Statue of Liberty, my 8 year old says " where are they at?"
My 4 year old says they are in New York can't you tell there is the Statue of Liberty."
Now I have never said anything to him about the Statue or New York and neither did my wife.

the wife and I looked at each other and said he is gonna be a smart little boy.

Makes me feel good that he can do the things that he can do already at age 4.

Club - He never stops amazing me. Like I said before I have 4 boys and he is by far the sharpest. Ohh he is also left handed, not sure if that has anyhting to do with it or not.

Germ - We are teaching him sign language also. He is picking it up with great ease. We went to a play that the 8 yr old was in. My mom was there and the 4 yr old says I love you in sign language to her. She looked at us with that look. We had to tell her what he said.

Mntsnow - So do I it is great fun to see them grow up. They will show you things that you thought were inpossible for a child of that age.

Surreal - back at ya

Scott - It is great to see them put 2 and 2 together. My 8 year old wnated to turn the hall light on so he could go up stairs. ( he was 3 at the time ) Well he could not reach the switch so he pulled a rocking horse over. He put it so the back was facing the wall, tested it to see if he sould stand on it. Got on and relised that he could not reach the light. He then got off and looked at the horse, looked at the switch, looked at the horse, then turned it so it was parallel to the wall. Pushed it against the wall, tested again, got on and turned the light on. I just sat back and watched. It was very cool to see the synapsis of the brain coming together to get what they want.

knothead - Very cool indeed. When the 2 that are in school come home they have to do their homework. The 4 yr old will run and get his tablet that we got for him. He will sit down and pratice writing while the other two do theirs. I just hope his enthusiam for it does not fade.

I envy you guys. I always wanted kids but I am now 36 and I am in a relationship that hopefully will result in marriage. I want to spend a few years spoiling my true love and figure by the time I have done so fatherhood maybe out of the question. I know I still have time but I dont want to start raising a child when i am in my 40's. she has a 4 year old angel. I will be content with her in my life...

Congrats to all of you parents in Techimo land.
