Who is or was in the military and what branch?
I know alot of us here have military backgrounds. Who here served / serves and what did / do you do? Please post reguardless of what countrys military you served...
I served in the U.S. Air Force from Jan 1985 thru Apr 1988.
Basic Training - Lackland AFB, Texas (3708 BMTS) Jan - Mar of 1985
Tech School - Chanute AFB, Illinois - March - July 1985 (basic electronics)
Tech School - Vandenburg AFB, California - July 1985 - Nov 1985 (advanced electronics - Missile Procedures Trainer Technician)
Duty Station - Vandenburg AFB, California (4315 CCTS) - Nov 1985 - Apr 1988
My job was to maintain simulators used to train Launch Officers to launch Minuteman II ICBM's.
Any body miss their military life? I do sometimes...

I voted "None - I wanted to" to mean "None yet - I want to"
US Army next year...at this point in time, I want to fly choppers, hopefully the Apache or Little Bird...some sort of front-line attack chopper ...Still have to talk with the Army recruiter again, this time about Warrant Officer programs.

You left a couple options out:
- was a military brat
&
- none, didn't want to!
You see since I grew up as an Army brat I got to see and experience much of the military's dark side. And hence, I realized the idea of serving in the military is a noble and just cause, in reality it seems to be just a way to see how much BS you can stand before you explode. So I decided I would be joining the military only under the conditions that my country absolutely needed me there.
