My brother is still serving in the army... Based somewhere in Germany... He in the army air corp and fly's choppers after failing the SAS twice (broken leg on second attempt)

Basic Training - Jan - Mar '97 (St. Jean's, Quebec)
OSQAB (basic seamanship) Mar - Apr ' 97 (Halifax, Nova Scotia)
QL3 (trades training) Apr - Oct '97 (Victoria, British Columbia)

HMCS Huron - Oct '97 to Jan 01 (God I miss that ship

What types of ships are those? I only ever served on a troop transport (I've been on a few destroyers and carriers during training exercises). Thats pretty dull, even if all you do is watch the engines all day.

Well the Huron is a DDG. (Iroquios Class)Definately a FUN ship to be on. The Winnipeg is a FFH (CPF Class). Newer ship, MUCH better living conditions. Went from having 54 people in a mess to 9!

I'm a Combat Operator by trade. (NCIOP similiar to your TIC's) Most of us will knock the stokers whenever possible, if only because of the different shifts we work. They can drink (beer

)and watch movies most nights, while Combat Operators rarely get the chance.

At least the ships bars are open in port though. And thats when the real booze comes out anyway. (WHISKEY

U.S. Air Force, perhaps before anyone here was born (1952-1956)

Major duty stations were in Morocco and Washington D.C.

Basic was at Lackland.
