Your REAL job

I'm curious. I know all of you can't be computer professionals day to day. I lead a double life myself.

I'm a painter. But I'm working on starting my computer business with a friend and have been doing it on the side for a few years now. I also plumb on the side. And auto mechanics. Oh yeah, I paint on the side, too.

So what do you do to support your geek crack addiction? Buying sticks of ram and new video cards to match up to your new XP can get expensive... Any professional thieves? Con men? Vacuum cleaner salesmen? CIA agents? Subterranean Sanitations Officers?

I work for a well known international economic analyst. Student job, nothing too serious, and I have no responsibilities, plus I get to come and go whenever I feel like it; project based.

Apart from that I'm studying law.

There ya go. That's what I do.
On another note: The new site will be up shortly, I hope, and you should see some of my work on it. I did not develop the new site, but I am working on the images that will be used on the site.

I am just a wannabe geek. I know just enough to get me by.
My job is a mechanical insulator, I insulate pipe and ductwork in HVAC systems, and plumbing. It's not a bad job, been doing it for 12 years so the itching is not a problem, plus the fringe benefits are good.

As for ol' Martoch, I'm a Digital Switching Technician in the US Air Force! Proud to serve...

Part of my "additional duties" for the USAF involve being a Workgroup Manager, which means basically I install new computers...upgrade/repair old computers...install patches/fixes/security updates/etc. to insure our network is safe from potential intruders. We have about 35 computers in our workcenter, so I stay very busy!
Some of the questions I ask here are for my computers at work, so you guys can say that you've helped the USAF keep it's computers up and runnin' smooth...Thanks!
