need advice. Business software.

If anyone uses some of the common business software could you please give me some info on it. This is for a sole propriortorship or single user. I need to create invoices (like yesterday) and might as well bite the bullet and buy some software. Just hoping to not make an expensive mistake. Thanks......

I've used Business Works that is listed at the above link.

You didn't mention what your budget was. And, are you needing a full blown accounting package?

What kind of business? There are some that don't fit well/ easily into standard accounting software. (construction/contracting for example) Also if you only need to create invoices that can be done from within excel including some account tracking.

Accounting Software.

Business works is an exellent package, bit pricy but well worth the money.

Peachtree is also very good. Little more cost effective then Business Works.

Quickbooks, cheaper end software and I just got that so I really can't make any comments on the performance or anything, reason purchased this was a cost factoring.

Only drawback to these types of programs is if you need cash register like abilities for your daily sales. The aboved mentioned software packages only create invoices that are done on a billing cyle.

The way around this is to use a Point of Sale software that has cash register invoicing, these daily sales and customer account balances can be imported to an accounting software package. If you use this option make sure the accounting software is compatiable with your point of sale software for importing purposes.

Like someone else said, it depends on what kind of budget have to work with for deciding on what software to use.

Good Luck!

Yes MS has invoicing templates, however you'd have to create a database for tracking purposes. If you run a business its usally a good idea to have some sort of tracking software that keeps everything in chronicial order in cause of an aduit down the line and not only that business accounting software makes it easier to balance your books at the end of the month and also to track where your money goes and how its being spent and gross/net profits ect....ya get the idea.

Any business you run its usally a very good idea to use an accounting package to keep track of everything.

Unless of course you want to do it the old fashioned way, MANUALLY!! now that is a pain in the rump if you ask me.
