The Cube - any insight?

Cube is on Sci Fi right now. I've seen it a million times, but each time I'm just as puzzled. Anyone who has seen it, can you give me any insight? I thought it was a metaphor to society... but I'm not sure...
I have so many questions. Why does the person who gets out get out? (I am trying not to be specific so as not to ruin the movie for those who haven't seen it) Why are the people who are in it the ones who were chosen???

I'm interested to hear what you think this movie means...
BTW, for those who haven't seen it, go watch it... it's an A+ movie.

I havent seen the Flick, but here is my interpretation of the "Box."

You think inside the "Box" and go with the grain than you are an accepted member to society and considered a contributor (a drone). If you live and think outside the box, you are neither.

Does this go with the movie?

Wart - Well, it worked!
It *is* really weird, and just my kind of movie.

Also, has anyone viewed pi or requiem for a dream? I own those on DVD. Both are weird. And excellent.

Mortis: Nice thought, but I don't see that as the point...
A synopsis of the movie: these people, who are entirely different, all wake up trapped in this cube with the same grey jumpsuits on. They don't remember how they got here, they just woke up in the cube. The cube has traps.... each person has a special ability to help get past the traps... they learn this as they go on. But, only one of them get out......

EDIT: I looked it up and analysis' speaks of the actual Cube to be a metaphor for racism struggles, sexism struggles and human pyshological conflict that borders on narciscism and paranoia when dealing with the "self" in relation to trust of others that are different- Black, female... Further, White middle aged males conflict and supremecy as the "Dominant" force who holds power and position in todays society and how this position and current reality is threatened by moderniziation and equalization.

I thought the movie was interesting, however the plot was weak and the story was under-developed.

A good idea that was executed in a very mediocre fashion.
