I must admit some are funny.
But the only message that really jumps out from this thread is;
"Hell hath no fury like a liberal Democrat scorned."
lol. Oh well. You guys do whatever you need to keep your chip up. I'd bet that Dubya can laugh at himself just as much as we can laugh at him. And no matter how "non-slick" and gooberfied he might be, at least he's an honest man, his heart's in the right place, and he doing what he thinks is right for the country.
Why some people would prefer a slick, smooth-talking, lying, cheating, devious, sneaky, scoundral is beyond me. I'll take a gooberfied car repairman as our leader over a sleezy car salesman ANY DAY.

Hey, guys, why is everyone so defensive? These are just jokes. Slick Willy ones are much funnier.
This has nothing to do with partisian politics. Just laughs.
Read them in that light.

Gore visits the Queen
Given that Al Gore has no job, he decided to take a sightseeing
vacation in Europe. While visiting England, he is invited to tea with the Queen.
He asks her what her leadership philosophy is. She says that it is to surround herself with intelligent people. He asks how she knows if they're intelligent. "I do so by asking them the right questions," says the Queen.
"Allow me to demonstrate."
She phones Tony Blair and says, "Mr. Prime Minister. Please answer this question: "Your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or sister. Who is it?"
Tony Blair responds, "It's I, ma'am."
"Correct. Thank you and good-bye, sir," says the Queen. She hangs up and says, "Did you get that, Mr. Gore?"
"Yes ma'am. Thanks a lot. I'll definitely be using that!"
Upon returning home, he decides he'd better put some of his old friends to the test. He calls Slick Willy and says, "Hi, Bill, I wonder if you can answer a question for me."
"Why, of course, Al. What's on your mind?"
"Uhh, your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?"
Billy hems and haws and finally asks, "Can I think about it and get back to you?" Gore agrees, and Slick hangs up.
Slick then immediately calls members of his old staff, and they puzzle over the question for several hours, but nobody can come up with an answer.
Finally, in desperation, SW calls Colin Powell at the State Department and explains his problem. "Now look here, your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or your sister.
Who is it?"
Powell answers immediately, "It's me, of course, you idiot."
Much relieved, SW rushes back to call Gore and exclaims, "I know
the answer! I know who it is! It's Colin Powell!"
And Gore replies in disgust, "Wrong, it's Tony Blair.

"It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it
| Quite the contrary, that was former Vice President Dan Quayle who served under W's dad.
Seriously though, I have a great dislike for Bush and the entire GOP right now. Yeah, sure Bush has done some great things, both for the nation and the military, but this whole "war on terror" thing is getting out of hand. Frankly, I don't want to get killed or see anyone I know get killed just so he can be re-elected. I say this because if you look at history (more importantly, GB senior) you'll note that Bush Sr. had a very high approval rating during the Gulf war, but as soon as it ended those ratings dropped and he lost the election. I think GWB is going to try to keep this war going until at least 2004 so his ratings stay high.
You might already notice that I don't fit the stereotype of "He's in the military. That means he's a straight-ticket Republican." I also don't like how the conservatives slam the Democrats for going against the President, and aren't acting bi-partisan. What I see them saying is this:"We need your votes to pass our agenda through the House and Senate now, but when re-election time comes we're going to stab you in the back and say 'If you vote for the Democrats, the terrorists win.'" They cry wolf when things don't go their way, but if the GOP wants to screw the other guys then that's just fine.
