Getting evicted sucks...

If anyone happens to win that big lotto thing they've got going on, please to be lending my mother a couple grand? Her home insurance company is dropping her because her house doesn't have good enough siding, or a good enough roof. We are trying to rebuild the house, but we can't get any money (the whole poor thing getting quite in the way) and we've only go till the 26th of April before the bank takes the house for lack of insurance. Blargh. Business sux0rz.

On the other hand, if anyone is an architect and knows how to build floors on weird shaped foundations and feels like lending me some insight, please let me know.

-Whir (deep in the 'dang, this sucks' phrase)

CM, Touting for business?

Whir, Are you saying the bank will forclose the loan because the insurance company will not cover the property?

What have they, to gain, by doing that?

The property is worth $40,000. She only owes $22,000. I'd say they have quite a bit to gain.

Yeah, man, that sounds like a pretty predatory bank!

I think CM gave you a pretty good idea there, and if you can find an attorney who'll work pro bono (basically free) in your behalf, to file a bunch of confusing and obstructive (to the bank) motions, you can buy all KINDS of time that way. Doesn't matter if you're right (or maybe the bank is, I don't know) or what, once the motions are filed with the court, you can tie 'em up indefinitely!

Has she tried any community outreach programs? there are alot of non-profit agencies who may be able to help. Especially for low income households. When I got divorced, I was able to get help with Day care for my kids. The best of luck to you and your mom, hope you make it through this OK.

OBFUSCATION IS GOOD !
Of course, all my posts are models of clarity.

Hurry and get a
pro bono lawyer or a starving one who'll work for food and take my some of my legalistic arguements against any thing that moves and have him/her copy them on funny-looking paper with margin lines on all four sides and you have a ComplainT and Petition.

OBFUSCATION ! What could be clearer?

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOG

Needs siding & a roof, hmmm....

How long has she had the same insurance co, and has it hailed at any time during that coverage???

Could be the very company that's causing your worries is also the solution to your problem!!

Is there a somewhat local Legal Aid number you can call? They are listed in the white pages, and I believe this is just the type of situation they could help with. Good luck!

Hail works, so do high winds. I had my house completly resided cause of wind damage. The siding was old, and they couldn't match it - bingo - new siding.

Definatley get some legal advice.
