They must be talking about what we call a "fuse link". It's just a piece of wire that's designed to burn in two if the current passing thru it exceeds a certian value (like a normal fuse would). That way if there is a short or current overload condition, your other circuitry hopefully doesn't get damaged.

You could also just buy an inline fuse holder and a pack of fuses to connect between the two points long enough to reset the circuit.
