Shampoo can be used as a mild body wash. Here is an excerpt from the lable of a Paul Mitchell Shampoo bottle. Note the last line of the quote....

Quote:
MOISTURE-BALANCING CLEANSER

For all hair types

Provides the perfect balance of moisture

Builds body

Excellent as a body wash
Soaps are typically harsher cleansers filled with deodorants and fragrances to hide our stench.

Have you tried washing your hair with Ivory soap (bar type)??...

Plus shampoo usually smells a little better....

Washing hair with soap leaves my hair feeling like straw.
