Wide or thin?

... ties

Not necessarily looking for a preference, but why you have that preference?

Myself I hate wearing ties, bleh lol

However, I myself prefer thin ties.. and was wondering why people like wide ties? Now granted you can fit more stuff on a wide tie I know my wife would get me a winnie the pooh tie pretty darn quick if she knew I'd wear it

However, there are not many thin ties with winnie the pooh lol

ARgh maybe its just because its 7am and getting ready to go to bed

Dunno, whats your thoughts on the topic?
Women I'd like to hear your preference of what you like to see on a guy...

Just out of curiosity

Yeah...medium to kinda-thin are cool.

Wide ties are goofy, and look like they should be on Fred Mertz.

Thin ties used to be cool...but now they just look totally 80's. The equivalent of wearing a "Members Only" jacket. (I kinda miss those thin leather ties though...they were useful for so many things. )

However whats even more important then the width of the tie, is the quality. A couple of nice $85+ silk ties will take ya a lot further than a dozen polyester ties.

And clip-on ties? By definition they are not ties. And IMO should be outlawed due to some kind of fashion code violation. If you're not capable of tying a tie then you shouldn't have a job that requires one. (Just my little personal philosophy there.)

Hey, clip-ons have thier uses. I can't think of any right now, but they must have thier uses...

Real ties need to be of quality, either in material or substance. My favs are a thin black silk (sort of black on black) and a medium daffy duck...

And on the clip on...

Anyone that has to work in the public eye and with a dangerous job should have several and use them. Examples would include police, security, and electricians/techs working in office buildings.

See, everything really does have its uses...
