I just had the greatest idea
I'm gonna find a PetSmart (those big chain stores entirely devoted to your freaking pet) and bring my dog in....you can do that, right? I see people with their pets in the store in the commercials.
*snickers*
hehehe..my dog hates other dogs, as I've said before....this would be absolutely hilarious......I gotta find one.
A brainstorm I had while in the mirc chat

Warthog | Warty, um yes I have seen people take their pets into petsmart but generally people who are going to the pet clinic.
In regards to your statement of "my dog hates other dogs" um this would be an unwise decision to take your dog into a pet store expectially if it reacts violently with other dogs, there is nothing worse than having to see a public display of two dogs fighting and growling and not to mention the unease this would bring onto other customers.
I have a fully certified hearing dog with full public access rights and it really galls me when people bring in thier home pets to the store and they do not have control of thier dogs even on lease.
Numerous times I been in this situation when another dog is trying to pick on my service dog and I immediately put her in a double down position. (double down means for her head on flat on floor as well as her whole body. ) this action on my part stops the other dog from fighting because i just put my dog in a submissive position and voilent dogs won't in my experience won't mess with my service dog when i do this.
Please take heart to the public and keep your "dog hates other dogs" home and do your shopping. Sorry I disagree with your idea of taking your pet into PetSmart. This would not be funny at all if your dog picks a fight with another dog and that dog gets injured by your easy agreessive provoced dog and you will end up with a whopping vet bill.
Keep it home.
My huge .02 worth.

just a joke.........It was more to make fun of that crap about spending tons of money on pets. We have an entire chain of stores devoted to pets. No wonder all the mid-east hates the west for their gross excess. Obviously it's different for you, Neo.
Hypothetically, why would it be my fault? Even if my dog did start the fight, the store allows pets inside. Unless of course they have a sign up when you enter the store about fighting, etc. Not all dogs get along........
I get annoyed with the "lets let our dogs sniff each other" thing that always happens.
One thing is for sure, I have control over my dog. There isn't a doubt about that one. If I told her to stop, she would.

Probably a bad idea in light of what happened here in CA with the recent dog mauling death and subsequent trial netting the owner 15 years in prison---people all across the nation are down on dogs that "may possibly" be vicious whether with another animal or otherwise---ive seen folks recently here in CA while walking their common dog keeping them muzzled for fear of a possible accidental liability problem...

I tried that once with my friends rottweiler
and it turned out it wasn't the best of ideas
Marvin is one crasy dog and if i hadn't wrestled him down
he would have killed the other dog.
Keep Molly @home and dont push it

I am sorry warty, a dog who gets angry easy is not a dog who is in control and IMO is the fault of the owner for not teaching the dog to control his impluses towards other animals. Dogs are not born angry and agressive, this is purely IMO the doing of the owner/trainer.
I seriously doubt you'd be able to stop your dog once she/he is in a aggresive mode without phyically yanking on her leash and dragging her away from the situation. If there is no leash then you have no control period when dogs are in this mode. Dogs are purely reactive, majority of the time they do not plan out thier actions, they only react to the current stimuli.
Again with the dogs sniffing each other is again at the fault of the owner/trainer, my dog is trained not to do this and prior dogs that I have had in the past I have trained not to do this, they would get repremanded for doing this. Dogs by nature will do this unless the owner/trainer intervanes the process and teaches the dog to sit or stand idle at the owner/trainers side regardless if other animals are around or not.
I won't be seeing you eye to eye on this and as for it being a joke, sorry IMO its a bad joke to even think of something like this with a dog with that type of behavior.

Neo, again I say this is a very unique perspective for you. You have a fully trained dog and are in a situation where you rely on the dog....quite rare among the average population. My dog may not be as trained as yours....no way....but from other dogs I've seen ALL around here and EVER, my dog is VERY well behaved. Know what? When she's off a leash, she's not aggressive at all.
If you're calling the happygolucky labrodore and golden retriever dogs "trained' simply because they don't have any aggressiveness, that's wrong. All the people in my neighborhood have those and they are the dumbest dogs on the planet, again the fault of the owner. You meet my dog and she won't seem aggressive one tiny ounce.
BTW, I know exactly why she is aggressive. She is a hunting dog and has often finished off other small game. There, she was trained BY the owner.
