Work Nominate a new Mod?

In light of Mntsnow and NDC leaving their Moderators positions.

I wondered whether it could be called.
That the community put up nominations for the new Mods?

Cheeky I Know. But how about it?

'The Quiz Is': Who would you nominate for a mod? and why?

Over to you

Nice thought, Rusty.

Dunno if it would be appropriate for us to "vote" on a mod, though, as it's the admins responsibility to select them. They shouldn't be selected solely on the ground of popularity. And then there is the issue of some kind of "mod roster" to ensure there is always a mod in the forums available. This may preclude some as they can't be available enough. So strictly speaking this would only be a "theoretical" exercise.

That said, there are certain members who would make good mods given the opportunity I think. Ground Zero is certainly one, a steading influence here from what I've seen. And a steading influence is a good quality in a mod.

DVNT1 is also a rock solid member who's calmness and sensibility shine through, so he would get my support as well. Not being liable to fly off the handle at short notice would be a good trait in a mod as well. But only if he could fit it in with his DC projects!

I think posting ideas on "why" we might like certain members for a mod gives us a clearer picture of what we expect in a mod. So make sure if you add to this thread and nominate someone you mention "why".

Cheers
Mick

I am all for a mature member with life experience. Doc comes to mind, but I imagine he stays pretty busy.
