Fl state labor laws

anyone know anything about the labor laws in Florida?

the company I'm working for, is trying to start back charging us for jobs we do, that fail internal QC's (quality control). we are not contractors we work directly for our company... not subs.. well they are trying to back charge us a instant $25 for any minor QC fail.. or the entire job for anything they deem major. well tipically we make around $50 as a adverage on any given job (tipically beteen $35-$100)

so as you can see getting backcharged $25 is pretty much half the job in most cases... but we take the chance on getting back charged the enitire job. I really can't belive that this is legal, so I'm trying to get any info I can... I could see it being legal if we were sub-contractors but we arn't.

btw we have never, been giving anything in writing telling us what is a minor QC fail and what is a major.. so they could just make it up as they go along, for all we know...

several of us have thought about just quiting or just telling them we arn't going to work, intill they stop this, and give us a chance to fix our QCs before we get back charged... but if we did a strike of some kind, it would take 100% of the guys. Unfortanly most of us need our jobs so it's not so easy to go with out pay.

so any info would be great

It sounds legal to me.

Contact any local Union hall and they could help provide you with the state labor laws and an attorney if needed.

Check your contract, if you haveone.

Florida is a "Right to Work" state, which when I was employed there seemed to mean.. The employer can do anything they want to you.. Cause there's always someone there to replace you.

Im sorry how can that be legal? Doesn't that have to be in writing on the application or the intial hiring on paperworks or employee manual that needs to be given and signed upon accepting employment somewhere, That don't sound right to me, then again i am not from flordia so i don't know, I'd contact someone find out more info on that. Please let us know what you find out.
