can ya help me understand the question of my english project here, it's about the novel "Lord Of The Flies"
here it is:
1). What does Simon's treatment of the parachutist suggest about his character?
as of my understanding didn't he just see the dead parachutist then run down the beach and get killed?
2). "Simon understands who and where the beast is fairly early in the book, long before he makes the trip to the mountain top. He knows, and during a meeting, he tells the boys all they really need to know. "What i mean is," he says, "maybe it's only us." The observation throws the boys into a fury, fear, and momentary chaos. Simon becomes at this moment, William Golding says, "inarticulate to express mankind's essential illness."
Why do the boys pay no attention to Simon? Convey several aspects of what is going on when Simon speaks:
a). Simon's potential as a leader
b). his manner of presenting his ideas
c). his physical appearance
d). his position among his peers
e). his message; their receptivity.
