Geocaching? anybody here done/heard of it?

We saw a TV show on this tonight on the dish and thought it was cool. What it is is a little "buried treasure chest" hidden somewhere, and you can go to a website and type in your zip code and it will list all the caches around your area.
It gives the GPS coordinates and some waypoints and you go searching for it. If you find it, they have a take one leave one policy, in that the cache will have little stuff like keychains, magnets, coupons for free drinks, etc, and you can take one out, but put something that you brought with you back into the cache.
You also sign and date the logbook that is in it and put it back when you are done.
I guess it's aimed at kids, but it seems like kind of a fun way to get out and see nature and get some excercise as well.

I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations on hand held GPS units that don't cost an arm & leg, and where is a good place (online or brick n mortor) to get one.

I have a friend who has a Garmin unit on his motorcycle, but it was like 500 bucks, and I would like to spend about 200 or so for one.

Here is the website : http://www.geocaching.com/

Enter your zip code if you live in the US, and you might be surprised how close some of them are to your house. I saw one that is about a mile and a half away from my front door.
They say on the website that this is done all over the world.

Check it out, looks like it could be fun to drag the kids/ spouse through the woods lookin for stuff.

Looks like a very interesting hunt, great for parents with older kids and cash in the pocket for a GPS unit if one is not already owned.

Makes me wish my kids were older for that. hehe
