The Stern Gang=Hamas, Hezbollah?

Has anyone ever heard of the Stern Gang? I remember my mom telling me about Castro and how he was fighting for his country in the the 50's, she also mentioned the Stern Gang, but not in a positive way. It always stuck with me. It seems to me that one man's terrorist is another man's patriot!

Could anyone expound on the "Gang", please.
