Outdoors Betrayed by a friend.

Anyone here even been betrayed by a friend?

I am one of those people who tends to say only the least amount necessary. I guess it is because I value my privacy. I got betrayed by a former friend who blabbed about my personal business to a woman, who in turn told everyone. I am so hurt/angry that I didn't know if I want to throw up or sleep.

Anyone else ever had a similar misfortune?

Yup, a g/f of mine when I was bout 21 blabbed about a dishonest thing I'd done, thankfully it didn't get to anyone who really mattered or they didn't believe her.

As the old saying goes, Sheiat happens, time heals all.

Don't dwell on the thing too very much, simply use it as a learning too and prepare yourself by not speaking of things that are too private.

Sad it is that we must keep some things to ourselves.

I've built a reputation among my professional clients and word has spread, they may carry on business as usual while I'm there working. I've developed a unique trait, the ability to turn "off" my hearing when needed. They can operate in complete confidence as I do not retain any of their conversation or study any cash or valuables visible.

Forgive the friend, forget not however don't let it eat at you. Nothing is worth having a nervous condition, especially one like this.

KAknight, did this 'friend' intend to betray you?
or was he just STOOPID?

I've been betrayed before, but to me the difference is the INTENT.

Some people are just careless. Forgive, them, because they just don't know any better. (and zip the lip around 'em next time! )

Then again, some people will trade your trust for some other (percieved) advantage...these people aren't worth the fat to fry 'em in hell.

Perhaps the test would be...sitting this person down, and finding out how they feel about what they did?

Their attitude about it will tell you everything you need to know.

Hang in there, buddy...
