That's the only way the fine dining restaurant I work at will enforce no-cellphone rule. They certainly disprove of it but don't have the b@lls to do anything. Maybe it's just the sucky management, I dunno

Doc, we have a Judge here in Fort Worth that has the same no pagers/phones rule. ha,they must be brother/sister.

She once put an attorney in the slammer for a few hours for his phone going off, and he was trying a case at the time!
Umm, sorry, we will continue this case tomorrow, Mr. lawyer, that'll be a contempt charge, and gimme the phone...

If ANYBODYS phone/pager goes off, they forfeit it right then and there, and they can get it back at the end of the day. This is even for the spectators.

She can be a harda$$, but if you are straight, she is very fair. Just like you said, don't try and pull the wool, she's seen/heard it all.

I'm with ya' on all but the stupid part.
Never offer more than what they ask, and do it in as few words as possible.

case in point

I had pulled been over,(i can't remember what for) did not have my license on me . offered to give him my license number(I know it by heart).
The officer thinking I was talking about the one on the car called me a smart*ss.

I then had to go to the trouble of telling the kind sir that I was not meaning to be a smart *ss but trying to help him out in his quest of finding my identity. (and getting to the donut shop)

He did let me go with a warning though.
