I blew a gasket today [Rant]

Working the night shift, still, since Jan 28th, 12hrs 7 days.

Got up today with a bad headache.

Mom had called wanting me to get her riding mower serviced as her grass has grown 0.0001" already this year.

So I get a early start with plenty of time to drive 20 miles to her house then 20 more miles to work(oh my head hurts)

I get there and drive down into the pasture to get the heavy loading ramps for the mower.

It rained 4 days ago and I didn't realize the ground was still so wet in spots, until I stopped to open up the fence. The RR Tire slid a bit a wadded up some grass so that when I started off I was STUCK instantly.

NP I think, so I grab some WWII aircraft landing strip(8' = 100#)and trudge through the slop to put it under the offending tire.

It spins a round and PHShhhtttt ,, pop goes the tire, dammit ! (delete many expletives)

As the tire goes flat I grab traction enough to get to the barn where the compressor is, problem #2 is the ditch I gotta jump is on wet ground too, I hit it too fast to get over and wreck the lower spoiler and bust it and the fog lights(delete more expletives)

A run to the house for soap and water(120 yds)and get Mom to cal work to tell Otis Idiot I'm gonna be late and why.

I get back find the leak, plug the tire, thankfully it didn't break the bead and by now I'm late for work.

The first think Otis Idiot says is what do I wanna do to make up my 1/2 hour tardyness, come in early or call the boss and pay him 30 min overtime ??

No, "How bad did you tear up your truck" or nothing of the sort. Which is common courtesy here.

This hit me like a ton of bricks and I procedded to talk to Otis Idiot like he was a first day recruit and I was his DI who just caught him messing up big time.

Moron Otis is the most self centered person among all 200+ regular employees. After 35 yrs on the job it looks like he'd matured enough to watch his tongue, especially after someone has had a VERY BAD start of the day, like this one.

Otis rubs about 199 people here the wrong way so badly that many of them postpone business with our department until someone else is there to help them..

Yeah, the day/night whatever, has gotten better as everyone here heard about my fit and told me their personal rant about Mr. Idiot.

It helps to hear that you are not alone when times get rough.

The front air dam is toast, I think, both driving lights are busted and hopefully nothing under the front end is damaged.
