<RANT>Got hit and probably totaled my car today</RANT>

<RANT>
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH.....

Some freakin retard decided to make a left turn, right in front of me today... and THWACK hits me. It's already been declared his fault, but what really pisses(can i say that here? it's true...) me off is that my car is old, 1989 and has a blue book trade in value of about $1500 or so, maybe a bit less, cause it has 186K miles on it. So it will likely be totaled out.
</RANT>

I bet they had a fluffy wheel? I can never trust a driver with a fluffy stearing wheel.

Try to find a mechanic that will fix it. There are ways around this. You can talk the insurance company out of totalling it if it is reasonably fixable.

Best of luck
Dave

Collect the dough, then sue him in civil court for mental anguish, pain and suffering. Convince them how you literally loved your car like a wife, and and will suffer it's loss for ever and ever. You can't sleep at night, you can't eat, and your hair is starting to fall out. You've broken out in hives. You're losing weight. You see spots before your eyes. Find some sleazebag lawyer that will sue them for a million bucks.
Settle out of court for $250,000. Buy a lexus to ease your pain.

I'm sorry to hear that, Falcom If that happened to me, I'd be devastated (emotionally). It sounds like you didn't get hurt? I hope not!

Thankfully, it sounds like he has insurance.... goood. With so many uninsureds driving around in SoCal, just that aspect is real scary if you don't carry UM yourself ;/

Best wishes and sorry about your ride

lol, Cadd.. I'll have to remember that one

What kind of car was it?

Depending on the model, I'm all for what cadd suggested

In situations like this, I am not going to come out the loser.

Tell the insurance adjuster that you want YOUR car fixed to the original condition and using original mfg's parts, not cheapo imatations.

I think you can demand your car be repaired.
