Laminate flooring?

Has anybody done any lamminate flooring like Pergo? What other brands are there and what is good? I'm interested in doing some of my floors. I'm looking for quick locking type, no glue.

Can't be of much help being here in the UK, although you can get Pergo here. I have used both types, glued and un-glued, there is no comparison, never get the glued stuff. I had all sorts of problems with it, the glue was too thick so the joints wouldn't butt up.
The click together stuff is great, no hassle at all.
I bought it from a large DIY chain here, so I would say dont automatically go for the expensive stuff.
If you can, remove the skirting boards and floor underneath, you dont then have to struggle to get the edges really neat 'cos the skirting covers it, no need for the cork round the sides unless you think the floor will move, then just put a few peices in.

Added to all that it is quite a cheap floor.

I know the two top manufacturers that make snap laminate are Pergo and Armstrong. I am looking to install the Pergo in my kitchen here soon. They are a little bit higher in price than some of the "generic" brands, but I haven't seen a generic that has the snap/locking product.

Also, if you go to Pergo.com, they will send you a (useable) sample for a small fee and a coupon for like $15 or so off of you total purchase of their product.

I put some stuff by Weyerhauser down in my parents house three weeks ago. You must have a smooth flat surface to put it on.

The wood underneath the subfloor was pretty dry, so my dad and I put down fiberock. Covered the back with some stuff similar to silicone then brad nailed the fiberock. Threw down some polyethene foam stuff. Then started putting the floor over top. Tongue and groove. Put glue in between. Had the floor up and the new one in, in 2 days. Came home saturday, went home sunday with the job finished.
