Age Gaps in Couples...

What does everyone think of large age gaps in married/unmarried couples? And by large... Well, what's your defintion of a large age gap? 5 years? 10 years? Are you impartial, as to what respect the age gap is? (ex. A 22 year old guy and a 30 year old woman compared with a 22 year old girl and a 30 year guy?)

Purely for conversation..

I think society agrees more with a 30 year old woman and a 22 year old man, then a 22 year old woman and a 30 year old man.

I dated and almost got hitched to a lady 8 yrs older to me but it wasn't meant to be. But I think as long as both are happy it doesn't matter that much, except I don't agree with say teenagers dating mates 5-10 yrs older than them.

I would think just the opposite.
In any event, any age gap of 10 years or more would require unusual forebearance of a younger couple. If they are 40 and 50, the effect is reduced by the mellowing effect of age.

My thought is this: Oldest below 20...3yrs diff. max
Oldest about 30....5 or 6 diff. max.
Oldest about 40.....7 or 8 yrs max.
ditto 50....10 to 12 years
ditto 60.... 15 to 18 years
ditto 70+...20 or 25 years max.
IMHO, as always.

I married a woman I knew since childhood, she was 7 years younger them I---I was in an extremely debilitating accident 5 years later where the Drs told us I would never walk again or lead a "normal" life---being younger it made it easier for her to burn rubber and sue me for the divorce while I was living in a hospital---I was bitter accordingly, but it was the best move she could have made at the time...

You never know what may happen, I cant/dont/didnt fault her...

Edit---needed to add "didnt" even tho I was bitter...
Something kept reminding me of our wedding vows---youve heard those words...

Wife is 8 yrs older than me. Her family still says that it will not last because I am to immature. I'm gonna be 34 this yearm who's immature. I work hard, support my family and play on computers.

anyhow, I think that it should not matter unless it is a clear case of gold digging. ( anna nichole smith)
