i think bad language is ok if it adds meaning or enphasis on what the person is trying to say. an example of what i don't like is Denis Leary, in his comedy skits he swears for seemingly no reason at all. it adds nothing to his act IMO.

every thing in it's place. Depends on how it's used. Round these parts it makes up much of everyday talk so don't mind it really but there are times when it is bang out of order.

It doesn't really "offend" me, it just makes me sad to think ppl could be so lacking in respect for themselves and one another to do that.

It's doesn't matter if you are not swearing AT someone, just using these words is a sign that you don't care at all about what you say or how you say it, which is a way of saying you don't care about how other feel about you.

Also it's not the words, it's the INTENT you are implying (shock, hurt, anger). It's also not necessary - there are enough ways to express your feelings and thoughts without being "offensive".

Just my opinion
Cheers
Mick

according to that quote, people should stay quiet when people think they are morons, why? being thought a moron makes people respect you and your opinion less, ignore any testimony of yours and basically ignore anything you have to say.

the first impression people will ever have of you is the language you speak. if you are boistrous (sp?) and can pronounciate very articulately what you are saying, they will think very highly of you and your opinions. swearing makes people think you are not the brightest bulb in the box

I think swearing is ok if you say, hit your thumb with a hammer, or you have just found out that your mother ripped up the winning lotto ticket, etc. But using it in everyday language is not a good idea.
