Well...
Talked around and heard a few things...
First is that K-Mart has dropped its contract with EDS, effective sometime this summer.
Second is that K-Mart has the lamest network in the state, mostly due to idiots in management. The buzz is that they have a solution of thier own, and are cutting EDS out of the loop. In other news, the lame manager that I can't remember thier name was transfered out of state last week. Hmmm...
And finally, from my bro, that K-Mart might be doing its buy and sink again. That's where they acquire just enough of a company to transfer debt off onto it, and then cut it free (along with the debt).
Not conclusive, but lets see what we have.
K-Mart needs to improve its network and telecommunications, badly.
K-Mart lets one of the best telecom companies in the state go...
K-Mart transfers the biggest problem in its network...
Now assuming Scott had talked to K-Mart, these actions would start to make sense. He would have set these as conditions for him to take the deal. After all it would leave him in the cat bird seat, in charge of the network, and without K-Mart having any back up strategy.
My conclusion: Good job of negotiation Scott!
(Need any local techs with contacts on the other side?)
