Holy ____! Big QUAKE in Taiwan

I just heard on the radio that there has been a big earthquake in Taiwan. They reported a 7.3 !!!!

Reports of many fallen buildings. I can find absolutely nothing about this on the net yet. Assuming it's correct, this is not good at all. Send them some prayers people...it sounds like they may be in dire need of some.

Oh that sucks. It is true. It just showed up on the National Earthquake Information Center site. They are saying a 7.1. Either way that's real doozie. I hope it's not as bad as the radio report made it sound.

I hope human losses are light, I'm sure China will rush right over and offer help

When disaster strikes, the rip-off artists use these as a crutch to raise whosale pricing to distributors..

Remember what RAM did after this ? ->>

In September 1999, more than 2,400 people lost their lives and more than 11,000 were injured in a massive 7.6-magnitude earthquake.

yeah doc I remember that
"The earthquake caused a shortage in RAM" so they jacked up the prices

However, hope its not too bad...
That is more important right now

I do not mean to start a flame war, but don't you think it's a little tasteless worrying about RAM prices while human lives are at threat ?

Well, lets put it this way. The story about this on my national news went for 21 sceonds. The WTC had a 6 hour feature, special report thingy. I have nothing against america but against the media, Maybe they should start to put things into perspective.

I think you missed the point CM. Doc's message was about the nature of people in crisis situations... they can either act like compassionate human beings, or greedy scoundrels. Lets hope the losses are low and the compasion is high.
