Car Vandalism
Every Sunday for the past two weeks, my dad's Windstar which we park out in front of the street has been egged. It seems this one kid who I'm not very fond of throws beer parties every Sunday and either he or his friends decide to vandalize random cars. A black Mercedes a few houses down had a cinder block thrown through its windshield. It was towed away on a flatbed. I set up a camcorder in my room with a six hour tape. I have permission from my neighbor across the street to use his driveway. My friend is letting me use his mom's Volvo S40 Turbo (very quick car). My plan is to park there with the engine and the lights off and if I see an egg thrown I'll fire it up and follow him/them. I'll figure out what I'll do to them once I find them. There is no excuse for vandalizing a defenseless car. Any ideas on how to catch these guys besides what I've said?

As much as I would hate to suggest this- Call the police and have them watch also. Seems that most cops hate people that vandalize also.

I agree with Doc...just make sure they don't see you at all. I wouldn't mess with a bunch of rowdy, drunk guys....

Well even if they are 100% sober. Just like what I was telling you about in the IRC chat room wart, about the kids here that are being arrested for doing stupid things...

sit there in camo... tape it all... once you see it happen, switch tapes... and chase after them with the camera... leaving the first tape there.... so, in case they decide to "communicate" with you, that the first tape won't get destroyed.

Being from NYC,I have a little different approach. While they're egging yours or your neighbors vehicles, go trash their's. They'll never know who did. Might teach them a lesson!!!!

If you are gonna chase them, I'd do it in a vehicle that is much heavier and one that you don't mind getting banged up a little.
