Does this mean Sharon is trying to Assasinate Arafat? hope this doesn't lead to a war.....

Yeah, watching it on CNN. It's already war, albeit a small-scale one. Arafat can never broker a peace with Israel. Remember what happened to Anwar Sadat in Egypt when he attempted a peace deal? Assassinated for being a sell-out to the Jews. Arafat remembers. Hamas and other factions run the Palestinian intifada not Arafat, who is merely a now powerless puppet for the media. There will never be peace until Israel is obliterated, the people extinguished, and the land taken, even it takes suicide bombers killing innocents in stores, buses and restaurants to achieve possession of some sand and rock. Psychos.....all of them. Peace must come from within.

Israel is doing what it has to do, and was supposed to do very long time ago - we're bringing peace to our land. Killings must stop.

It's not "funny" - we're independent country, and USA/UN must stop acting like Gods ... they affraid for their a$$es coz Arabs can cut oil supplies, hence all the "peace activity" :P

ND what the hell are you talking about? do you even know why hamas hates Israel so much? it's because Israel has been trying to control palestine for years and years. if Israel actually planned on peace, they would stop surrounding every city in Palestine with tanks and stop just driving tanks into arabs streats and start firing away. and this 'Jewish Settlements' things, how is that in any way different from the ghetto program that Nazi Germany had? it's exactly the same! force the other guys out of their home so you can either steal that home or buldoze it to make a new home.

I think the US/UN does that EVERYWHERE in the world but I can see why the oil supplies would have an effect. Then again we really should start putting more money into drilling in Alaska.

ND: The USA has little real footing to get involved. Remember that in this conflict we are there as part of the UN/NATO. And as such have to watch our treaties. Now if we would just dump that line of reasoning and go in... I can't even imagine the uprising, terrorist actions, all out WAR that would start. So please don't think of that line, please? And no, I don't have a solution, and yes that pisses me off too.

And on the Alaska oil topic, the oil to be had is pitifully small compared to demand. And a small history lesson: ancient Egypt had only one use for petroleum, as a medicine. Today we use it for all kinds of things. Tommorow... Personally I wish we were saving more of these natural resources for our children.

Chooco: Isreal knows that in this fight for its' own survival its' own allies (UN/NATO) are going to stand off and wait. But if it wants to live it has to act. I would be interested in knowing just how it can act in such a way as to survive against the arab world. If it goes in and hunts down the terrorists itself, it just results in more terrorists (sort of recruiting for the enemy). If it just sits and asks the Arab Nations to stop the terrorists, nothing happens. If they go to war they will crushed, and yes they know this. So just what do you expect them to do? They have used very limited actions, going only so far, using only so much force, and only against specificly named targets (Palestine/Arafat). I would have to give Israel alot of credit in getting this far.

Finally I would like to remind you all that just one misstep on Isreals part would bring down the entire Arab Nations militaries on them. And none of Isreals allies are close enough or fast enough to save them...

True..but we SUPPORT Israel and obviously shun the Palenstians... Israel feels they can do whatever they wish and they have the US almost on the end of a rope..
