What kind of 'bike do you have
I started this thread because my other was completely about the basics, safety, etc. This one is just about bike talk
BTW, this includes mopeds/scooters ...anything on two wheels with a motor
I really like TKOP's, dual purpose, Yamaha TW200. I read an excellent review of this bike, here.

I sold my last one a couple years back, when I bought the boat. I'll be buying another one, but the wife wants a new house, so it may be a couple years more. It will definately be a long-distance tourer, perhaps a 6-cyl. Maybe a Valkarie (dunno yet) if I can scrape up the dough. My favorite bikes have been the Kawasakis, with the Hondas second. I've had worse luck with Yamaha and Suzuki.

'87 Suzuki 650 Savage...a very weird "looks like a Harley" overtorqued single-cylinder hybrid....A pure street bike (only has 4 gears!) I'll race (and beat many) up to 70 mph...at which point, it's so wound out that it sounds like something's gonna happen! DEFINITELY not a freeway bike.
Which is a good thing for me...a self-limiting machine. Won't let me get in trouble!
Back in the day, I had a '71 Kawasaki 500 H-1...it was the fastest production bike in the world...0 to 60 in just over 4 seconds, and the 1/4 mile in the low 12's...it had a 2-stroke, 3-cylinder engine with 'surface gap" spark plugs, and when that mother hit 3500 rpm, Hoo-WHEEEEEEE!!!! I wrecked it racing. .
Had a few in the meantime but these two are my favorites! |

Hey Knot you had an H-1? I bought a new red H-2 750 in my senior year of highschool ('74) unreal bike at the time---within 3 months it had drilled rotors, clip-ons, rearset pegs, sticky tires w/aluminum wheels, carbs bored, K+N filters, portjob, milled heads and the most unreal set of handmade expansion chambers on it known to man---just the sound alone would blow people away---needless to say it was a "handful"---it didnt last long as it was stolen from my peeps locked garage, probably saved me---had 18 tickets for everything speed related in less then a year---most for doing wheelies while speeding---(not advised on the street)---took years for my insurance to come back to normal...
Sure was fun tho!---(thanks for allowing me to relive my past in what I tell you)
Heehaw! :-)
