P.O.D. and other similar rock groups

I was very pleased when I heard that P.O.D. was a Christian rock group. I had heard rumors about Creed, but found that they were not but sang about their lives that included being Christian.

More to why I am posting this...

I am a metal head and love groups like Korn, Static X, Alice in Chains, NIN, and similar bands. I am looking for some good bands that have similar sounds but are Christian. Are there any? I don't even know who to sample b/c I know nothing really about Christian "metal" but heard it exists...

Thanks for any recommendations
Dave

POD claims not to be a "Christian rock band" but have Christian beliefs...Stapp of Creed went to a Christian college and had a strict Christian upbringing---they have also been labled a "Christian" band which they dis-claim as well...
Increased money intake comes from being mainstream---being labled "Christian" may be a liability as a rock band as far as generating money for their company...

They claim NOT to be one because they don't want the dreaded label of "christian rock" and I don't blame them (btw, I do also listen to christian music).

NO! I do NOT beleive it is for money whatsoever.

In order for their message to reach the masses of young people, they need to be NOT just listened to by the sheltered Christian-school youth..........................

Thanks jad. Got some good leads. Pillar sounds alot like Kid Rock or Limp Biscuit. Pretty cool. I can't believe Petra is still out there. I listened to them in the 80s...

Mxpx is classified as a christian band, but they don't play metal. They're a punk band along the lines of Millencolin, Bad Religion, NoFx, etc.
