Tire Reviews?

Know of a good site for them?
Do you think they mean anything??
Guess who needs tires...... again...

!2,000 miles is about all I get out of a set.. sigh...
Mine are really soft, Z rated...
But I'm wondering if the wear rating really means anything...

I think she means 12,000.

S: Get you wheel alignment checked. A misaligned set of wheels will wear out real fast.

(I think she means 12,000 miles)

Id switch to a V or H rated tire (or SOMETHING less soft) and not rotate em---just keep replacing the fronts...(Same FWD Contour right? there arnt many curvey roads in the middle of the desert maybe you dont need the Z's any longer?)
I swapped out of Z rateds on my Mustang long ago and the V's last almost twice as long for me and provide "near" the same performance plus I save alot of $$$...

7-800$ every 12,000 miles is gettin alittle expensive aint it?
You should be able to get a reasonable performing tire that offers 40,000 miles of treadwear for under 100$ each...

No way doode If I wanted a sedan I would have bought one!

Actually prolly 20k is more like it,, I have to get a new set every year..

Socal, how do you like the ride of your Potenzas? How long have you had them?
So far I've had, Goodyear (they came on it)
Firestone, Kelly (the sedan tire like tkop suggested) and the latest set was a Yokahama...

I hated the hard tire....

Nope that will never happen and provide the performance I need.

Give me a set of flat black marshmallows please

Then all you can do is suck it up and absorb your wild ways...
Its a Contour right? (aint that a 4 door sedan?) ---itl never reach 149+ and actually need a Z-rated tire unless you launch it from the rim of the Grand Canyon---and even then your steering will be "spotty"... (I got approx 4-7k from my front Z's if yer gettin 20k you aint actually driving it agressively yet) get some cheaper/harder tires and save some bucks...
:-)

Yep TKOP, it's a Contour..uh but I do believe it was night time when you saw it... It's an SVT.
It redlines at 147, and will kick 130 with no perspiration and cruise. Usually the fastest I have it goin on a regular basis is around 100 110.. hey out here in the wide open desert...

The Factory tires were Z rated. The steering on that car aint "spotty"
Actually I like the stickyness for cornering too..
The 20k is mostly highway miles too... I don't seem to stay in one spot too long..

Actually caddmanq the job didn't work out.. it sucked...
But, the car is paid for, so I really try to stay ontop of every bit of maintence, and I notice any little change or nuance...

Hah!---im talking launching it INTO the Grand Canyon---the steering would be "spotty" but I bet you would finally reach Z rated tire speeds...
