Allen Cup related -- Warroad Sr. Men's Hockey at it again!?!
First it was the Warroad Laker's! They were forced to end their play after 50 years. Little town, big sport!
First they were kicked out of the U.S. leagues after winning too much. Then after winning the Allen Cup three consecutive times, they were forced out of the Canadian leagues. So, with no one to play against, they were dis-banded.
While I was back there last week, I learned that they have a NEW Sr. Men's team called the "Islanders". They just won the Manitoba title and are going up against Saskatchewan in their bid for the Allen Cup!
Wonder how long they last before they're forced to dis-band?
