That's right folks the Canadian Government is considering taxing CDRs and MP3 players. Where will these funds be going? Canadian artists that probably don't need anymore money.

$1.23 for 1 CDR!
$100 for MP3 players!

This is as bad as the SSSCA bill going throught the US Legislature. Sign the petition below and let Sheila Copps know that this is a terrible idea!

well you are wrong in a sense but it is indeed BS

yes Canadian artists do need money but that is because they suck!
Allanis Morsette is Canadian and she got super loaded from getting a record deal in the US, if these 'starving Canadian bands' were any damn good they wouldn't be starving!

just another step closer to communism for Canada.......i can't wait to move to the US after graduating.

brandon do you know how canada works? let me brief it up for you

-our Prime Minister can do whatever the hell he wants because he can't be voted out (including send flowers to some guy in the middle east before he even died!, not go to the WTC like everybody else did even the leader of Japan did, he is a putz, he doesn't speak english, he has made jokes in bad taste such as saying he thought his philipino friend was chinese.....)
-the PM can stay in power for infinite terms
-if an industry sucks such as Canadian TV/radio/music the government always picks up the tab
-people with money in Canada never get in trouble, insider trading only gets you a few thousand dollar fine even though you made millions

so let's compare:
-Canada has a leader who can't be booted ou, same with communism (to a farther extent)
-constant attempts to stick it to the people who are educated by jacking up taxes (communism just has it so nobody makes lots in the first place)
-in Canada you can be charged with the stupidest thing such as killing an unwelcome intrudor after they break in (under communism the police can take you away for no reason and keep you for an undisclosed amount of time)

so you see, Canada is slowly turning into communism......or at least hard core socialism

BTW it would not be interesting if it passed, we already have to pay like 2 bucks for a friggin cassette tape because our "suffering Canadian bands" don't have money. whatever happened to Adam Smith and his helper Common Sense.
