Although this doen not qualify as a comparison, my dentist last week recommened the sonic care toothbrush. Hope this helps?

I was doing the same research maybe a year ago, I'll have to see if I can find any of the articles I had read. I bought the sonic care. It's awesome! I really didn't expect that much of a difference, but I certainly noticed it. I mainly bought it because I figured it would be much easier on my gums while cleaning them and my teeth atleast as effectively if not more so. Well, it really does help the gums and overall my teeth do feel cleaner. At first it sort of tickles but after a couple of times you get used to it.
I'll look for info when I get home tonight and see if I still have anything.
