Way to go Pizza Guy!
This was posted on firearm message board that I read.
"Pizza Man Dispenses Own "Frontier Justice""
By Johnathan Parker
Star-Tribune Staff writer
Danville - A danville man who attempted to rob a pizza delivery man, but was shot by the worker, was sentenced in Danville Circuit Court on Thursday.
Kenneth Lamont Clayborne, 18, of Levelton Street, was found guilty of robbery ane use of a firearm in a felony.
According to Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney James Reynolds, James lester was delivering a pizza at Buford Street when he was approched by two men, who demanded his money on Sept, 2, 2001.
"The defendent put a gun to Lesters head and demanded more money even after money had been given to him," said Renolds. "He finally took the victims fanny pack and the pizzas that Lester had left to deliver."
As Lester gave Clayborne the pizzas, he pulled his own gun and shot Clayborne several times, the prosecutor said.
"Clayborne was hit and fell to the ground and Lester got out and administered first aid untill police arrived," said Renolds.
At Clayborne's sentencing, his attorney, Ronald Williams of Danville, said Clayborne has already been punished for the crime after he was shot six times.
"He had no intention of shooting the pizza man. He was intemidating him," said Williams.
"What he did was run up on a man with a Glock, which is a horse of a gun," the attorney added, "and he got shot."
"What he is enduring is going to to be a constant reminder."
Renolds said Lester was robbed while tring to make a living.
"He put a gun to his head, and threatened to kill him, and demanded money." said Renyolds.
"He (Lester) had the opportunity to train his own personal weapon on the defendant," the prosecutor said. "Mr. Lester got a little frontier justice."
Reynolds said the court has a duty to protect the citizens of Danville.
"A message needs to be sent that dangerous armed robbers are going to the penitentiary," he said.
Judge Joe Milam sentenced Clayborne to 21 years in jail, with all but seven years suspended.

Heh, I like that story.
I like them Texans.
No-nonsense to 'em. I assume (from the lack of any mention about it) that the pizza guy prolly got a pat on the back.
If he'd tried that in California, I guarantee you he would have found himself in jail with his attacker for various charges, among them carrying a concealed weapon! |

I am actually glad stuff like this doesn't happen in Michigan. More harm would be done then good.

I suppose you would have rather had the honest citizen be violated and robbed, possible shot or killed? Because that’s exactly what you’re saying.

How come, whenever I say one line someone tries and starts a debate? All I said was I am glad that something like this doesn't happen in Michigan...

Mike, you gotta explain yourself
If "harm" is having criminals being shot by innocent citizens, then I don't get it.

yeah... that's the ticket
Lets go into the vigilante system!!
That'd be great!!!
Oh you bumped at the store BLAM BLAM BLAM
He instigated it he bumped into me... oh ok that's alright
granted this is a bit out there, but I do agree with Mike things like that can be very dangerous. He's lucky he came out alive... Yes I'm very glad of how it turned out that he made it ok... but do you think it'd be posted up if the results were...
Pizza guy robbed, along with his pizza's criminals were backing away when pizza guy pulled out his own weapon. When the criminals saw the weapon they shot him 6 times killing the pizza man. Think you'd be cheering for that one? There are countless situations where a person tries to be a hero in a situation where he could of gotten away alive and died or seriously injured.
Why do you think we have inner city crime? Because EVERYBODY HAS A GUN...
You messed with my territory I put a cap in yo a$$...
