I think an independent Palestine and Israel will be the best thing to happen. Both sets of people need their own states. But you are right, they will both squabble over the division.

It may be the best solution but there is not a lot of land there to devide.

Yes, and that will make it even harder to achieve any kind of solution.

The issue is not only to divide land but where to divide- both sides claim the same pieces as their own for historical/religious reasons.

In my opinion, there will not be any resolution, at least in our lifetimes. Both sides are adamant and stubborn and have dug in their heels. Besides, its so politically charged, no leader will "betray" its side to reach any long lasting settlement.

No one will blink.
