um, what? (no it was not a popup, it was in the same window i typed in that URL that i got the porno site with no pop ups)

I know you know better than to post a hyperlink to a porn site, so you must have known that your link was either working, or at very least wouldn't bring up porn.... right?

IMO, you entered the URL incorrectly, and you already knew that anandtech.com hadn't moved or turned into a porn site when you posted this thread....

Chooco, you did type it wrong - I just tried the anandtech URL with one letter missing (not saying which one to protect the innocent ) and got a porn site.

So the point of this thread it to remind us that typing URL's wrong is a way to raise hits for unscrupulous porn sites. There was an article in PC World (Australian edition) about that very practice this month (it's not yet on the website).
