The Prom is coming...
Well, I haven't asked her yet but I will tomorrow. I really don't want to go to the prom but I feel I have to because it's a once in a lifetime thing and I want to be able to say I went Also a few hours with that girl would be a definate plus What would be a cooler ride? A Limo or a Porsche 928? I want to take the Porsche since it's free to me and it's much much cooler but I want to hear some opinions on the subject. Also any advice to a guy who hates to dance is welcome.

Don't think that you *HAVE* to go to your Prom. I'm happy to say that I never attended a SINGLE highschool dance. I am not anti-social, I just see such activites as frivilous wastes of money. If you really want to go, go for it but don't think its required.
Look at how much cash you will spend on this: Dinner, flowers, tux rental, prom tickets, limo rental (if you don't take the Porsche, which you should if you decide to go). It can add up fast, and frankly, I think $350-400 can be better spent on something you will keep, rather than one night of dancing, ect.

The main reason I want to go is because I don't know the girl and I want to get to know her. Maybe the prom will lead to other things, movies, get-togethers etc. But surprisingly, my mom is willing to pick up the prom tab for me which is nice. I think she considers me anti-social and that's why she wants me to go. I think others consider me anti social also and I want to go to prove them wrong I guess. You've placed some serious doubts in my mind Seal, because you've made some good points.

SEALTEAM - ROCK ON!!!!
"I'm happy to say that I never attended a SINGLE highschool dance." - Me too.
", I just see such activites as frivilous wastes of money." - Me too. In fact, I made $100 in tips that Saturday night (last year).
Wow....I'm continually amazed at how many parents pick of the prom tab. No way in h-e-l-l would my parents ever have done that.
I'm not a fan of the total BS in high school. I get along with most people, including girls just fine....it's just that I'm still not mister popular sooo.....anyhew, a lot of the girls are stuck up and still growing up, and in conclusion it's MUCH better in the real world, IMO, as far as girls go....
But hey, do what you want....if you really do like the girl and your parents are picking up the tab, you don't have anything to lose except...well, suffering through a boring night of seeing the same people you've seen day after day for years *rollseyes*
BTW, I'm 18 and a Senior in HS.

Now this is coming from an anti socialable person
as for your question, if you are gowing with a group of friends take the limo and split the cost.

Yeah, I'm a 17 year old senior and I'm not one of those rich spoiled types either (the Porsche is my uncle's). Half of my paycheck goes to the college fund and from my half, I pay for fuel and car insurance. My mom knows I'm on the fence about this and she wants me to go, so she offered to pay for at least part of it. Anyway, she's not the stuck up type at all (we have plenty of those at my school). She's as real as they get. She's really pretty, down to earth, doesn't dress or act like a $lut, doesn't smoke (cigarettes or anything else), red hair, blue eyes, Just a really nice girl. I really didn't like the homecoming dance, I hope the prom is better. Maybe we'll leave early and find something else to do. She's 95% the reason I want to go. The other 5% is to be there and to see what it's like. Quote: |

| Then go.
That fits my criteria. Ask her tomorrow.
Most likely, you'd appreciate the Porsche a lot more than she would ......now if you could get a cooler limo than a regular one, like a stretch Hummer, I'd say go for that
