Anyone use an additional antenna for their Cell Phone?

I'm out in the boons, and my cell phone reception stinks here at home.
So I end up not using it even when it's the weekend and I can call anywhere in the US for free...
Static and dropped calls.
Do the antennas with an external mount help?
I've seen some that just plug into the side of my phone..
A Samsung SPH N200.
What do you think? I 'd like some advice

After I returned my office cell phone, I ordered one yesterday. They said I should definitely connect the antennae as it will greatly improve reception. Especially around the house. So I'd suggest you try it.

I haven't got the phone yet- it'll come next week. Need it for job hunting.

Got a good deal on a samsung N105. Free with a one year contract- Voicestream. Best deal.

I had the same problem in my house in out in the bush,
i solved it by getting a antenna that was made for cars
it boosts the signal by 5dBa,only downside is that it's fixed to the window so the phone isn't wery mobile anymore

My friend tried the "internal antenna" (the one on the infomercial). It works gave him 1-2 bars of reception at school, where before he wasnt getting any.

How about tinfoil...! ROFLMAO...

Can't you use an alligator clip and wire and clip it to something...?

Skywalker, that baby is expensive here, about 70 bucks..
Does yours have to be on the window? I also have no idea by how much of a boost 5dba is... does it make your phone go from a weak fuzzy signal to a strong one??

These people I saw were talking about mounting it to a pizza tin so you can carry it from room to room or where ever you need it
Chuckiechan, doode, you've got it all wrong! The TinFoil is to keep out the alien broadcasting signals so they can't send radio waves to your brain!

LOL! MY tinfoil has an attractive red lacquer paint job!

Surreal, have you been to Pep Boys? I've seen car antennas there for like, $15...not bad for...what, 5dBa?

Au Contraire Monsieur Knothead....
You're assuming there are any stores in this town!
50,000 people do not a PEP Boys make!
We don't have anything except a Costco, and a Wall Mart.
I do have 2 horses living next door and a couple across the street, and a cow down the block

Tinfoil only works if you bite on it with a tooth that has a filling. Thats high tech and goes where you go. Talking can be a problem.
