Journalists have complained that they have ben unduly restricted in the Afghan Conflict. Recently Walter Cronkite--who had been given a crash course in parachuting during the WW II--has argued the restrictions are unnecessary.
Those of us who lived during the Vietnam War may remember the degree which news reporting "got into the war" and helped shape public opinion.
The extracton mission of medical students Granada--which I recall had been occupied by Cuban forces, marked a change in Military policy toward journalistic participation.
