Most tests I have taken indicate the average range to be between 110-120. My interpretation of such a score would be anyone that can recognize and adapt to the academic environment around him(/her)self as required with minimal difficulty.

Last official test I took was in my mid-teens for a state level examination. I scored within the genious range on an exam designed for 4-year college grads. Now at 21, I honestly do not have a clue anymore.

Still, IQ testing proves little to indicate intelligence. I once knew a person which probably couldn't score much above 100 on an IQ test, though he could run circles around ya' when discussing interpretive literature. While he didn't extend the same level of intelligence to other academic aspects, he proved exceptionally gifted in one field of study.

i say interpretive literature is a joke. if the author wanted us to think something he/she would have just come out and said it.

my IQ is 148, i have a 98% average in Chemistry, 83% in Biology, 73% in normal math (algebra and mid-points on graphs and so on) and i have a 78% in Calculus (called math31 here)

guess what my english mark is..... think of an actual number before you advance.

my English mark is 46%

Interpretive literature is something a person just has to get used to; sort of an aquired taste. But in all truth, some people like it and others just don't.

But yeah, it's all about what they don't say that makes it interesting. It becomes very involving at times, requiring more thought than you realize you are using, which is when it tends to get interesting.

I like it on the whole, though some authors just don't know how to write and so their books suck. Well, for instance, when one is always so deliberately and obviously talking around something that it becomes trite.

But yeah, anyway, I'll shut up on that now...

Ya know, I've always wanted to take an IQ test, though I doubt I'll do very well. Still, it'd be interesting to find out.

Oh, and I remember hearing something awhile back about what the average was. Maybe I misheard, but it sounded to me like whoever determines these things has lowered the average to 100-108. Perhaps that is just what the average has been, but I'm pretty sure that it was changed to that. Well, anwayz...

Later.

heh, if I took it I'd probably shift the bell curve LOL

I believe Average IQ is 100 in 48 of the 50 states
(not including West Virginia, and Arkansas )

In those states the exceptionally gifted get the question "how many times have you brushed your tooth this month" correct
