Clancy fans - Sum of All Fears movie

Hmmm... so they decided to de-age Jack Ryan and make him single(bye-bye Harrison Ford, hello Ben Affleck). If you've read the book, it was an Arab/Muslim coalition called Red Faction that masterminded the plot to nuke the Superbowl. Well hello PC Hollywood, who have now changed the villains to European Neo-Nazi's who want to rekindle the Cold War. Clancy has always mixed up his "bad guys" and it was the Arab's turn:

Red October = Soviet Union
Patriot Games = Irish IRA-types
Clear and Present Danger =Colombians
Debt of Honor =Japanese (Not a movie..yet)

yeah I saw the previews this weekend at one of the movies I saw... didn't look too bad, but I just can't see Ben Affleck in it... think they're trying to bring in some of the kids to watch these kinds of movies... you need a pro to play a part like that not some guy like him.. no offense meant to him if he's around However, he's just not a CIA kinda guy... *shrug*

Although I do believe they have Morgan Freeman which is good.
Didn't know they changed the story though, although they may have done that in light of recent events as not to piss anybody off :/

Actually, they had changed the story previous to the events of the last six or seven months, because they thought it would upset Muslims. Clancy did not like the change apparently, but the movie would not have been made without the changes. Amaziing how well Clancy knows his bad guys.

Well, if Clancy had gone with Icon Productions (aka Mel Gibson), the story would NOT have been changed. Also, Mel would have made a great Jack Ryan

I've read all of Clancy's books, and especially like the Jack Ryan line of books. How do you change the story from the Isrealis losing a nuke off a plane, and the Palestinians modifying it and trying to nuke us, and make it neoNazi's? Leave it to the PC pukes in Hollyweird to junk up a perfectly believable story
