Just post a resume on monster. Every time you update your resume it bump your name back up towards the top of the list. So every few weeks go and add a space after your last work in you resume, then a few weeks later go back and remove the space. Your resume will get a lot of view this way. It has worked for me.

Also, for my online resumes, I add keywords to it at the bottom.. I don't know if it really works, but that's what I do.

I've never used a resume service, so I can't advise if they're worth it or not. I don't plan to, either. And every employment agency I've applied at so far hasn't been worth my time to test. They've done nothing for me.

Make sure you have your resume viewable by employers. Post your resume on several job boards.

I do read the advice columns at those job boards though, you can get good hints there, as well.

Apply for jobs in your local newspaper's classifieds.

Good luck, maface. I'm searching, too.

I am too as I'm not completely happy in my job. I find it best to respond to Company ads or go to their web page and find openings. But I generally search for the company at Hoovers.com and get details of key people and their phone numbers and call them first and send in your resume direct to the concerned person. You do need to be a corporate member at Hoovers to get into the premium section, but I'd be happy to send you my corporate login if you want.

Good Luck, and to you too Socalgal. (I thought you got fixed up recently???)
